PRO/100 S Dual Port Server Adapter features two 10/100Mbps ports
on one card, server bandwidth that scales to 400Mbps, high-link
availability through Adapter Fault Tolerance, and the same manage-
ment and performance capabilities as the PRO/100 S Server Adapter.
You can aggregate bandwidth up to 400Mbps with one adapter, up to
800Mbps with two and you can establish automatic redundant
connections to increase availability.
In addition to its primary function providing 10/100 connectivity
between the server and other network devices each PRO/100 S Dual
Port Server Adapter also offloads 3DES encryption from the CPU,
freeing processing power for other network tasks.
The PRO/100 S Dual Port Server Adapter contains the Intel 82550EY
Fast Ethernet controller integrated LAN silicon and encryption
offload co-processor whose smaller chipset design occupies one-
quarter of the space and consumes one-quarter of the power of the
earlier, separate controller and co-processor.
This adapter is based on Intel SingleDriver technology for ease of
installation. Designed for Windows 2000, it includes Intel Packet
Protect II software that extends IPSec functionality to Windows NT
4.0 systems.
