Connect to the world of serial devices such as fax/modems, digital cameras, bar code scanners, monitoring and control systems, writers for court reporting, data collection gear, lab equipment, GPS receivers, wireless receivers and trans- ceivers, label printers, and more. The Dual I/O features simultaneous and independent operation of both serial ports. Separate cables allow the flexibility to use only one port without a dangling cable on the other or to mix custom and standard cables. The Dual I/O's 16550 UART's gives your serial peripherals optimum performance under Microsoft Windows. Built-in buffers support a continuous data stream from high speed peripherals such as digital cameras, 56K modems and ISDN modems. Socket's High-Integration Serial (HIS) chip reduces chip count to improve reliability and reduce power consumption. Uses only 5 mA in standby mode compared to over 100 mA for other serial cards. Works with Windows 9x and Windows CE platforms. Socket also offers Card Services software for Windows NT 4.0 and a PC Card direct enabler for MS-DOS.
